How do I make Netscape my default browser?

If you're using Windows, just do a find for "prefs.js". Open that in notepad. Look for the following line:

user_pref("browser.wfe.ignore_def_check", true);

Just change this to false.

If you are using a Macintosh or UNIX, the file is "preferences.js".

Then, just restart netscape.

You can also do this...

1.)Locate a file on your disk with the extension htm or html (Or make one using notepad---save a text file with the extension .html).

2.) From Windows Explorer, hold down on shift while right clicking on file.

3.) Select "Open With"

4.) Put a check mark in option box "always use this program ... " then scroll down box and pick browser.
