I am presently running WINDOWS95 on my P133 laptop. I want to install WINDOWS98. I bought the full install CD. The trouble is, when I run the setup disk for 98, it finds no CD. (I am using an portable/external PCMCIA card CD). Setup loads CD drivers, but for a desktop. The question is, how can I interface through my PCMCIA card to my CD from DOS to read the WIN98 CD??????? I am really stumped. I bought the machine with 95 on it. It had to get on there somehow!!!!

Thanx in advance!!!!

Hi,

If you still not remove present Win95 from your laptop you can overcome the problem without installing PCMCIA drivers for DOS. Boot your present Win95 and copy WIN98 folder with cab files from Win98 CD to the C:\ drive. Then you can install Win98 from this folder without using the CD-ROM drive.

Good luck, Igor

The win98 full install is going to choke when it sees another OS on the pc. After coping the cd to your hdd like Igor suggested you'll need to reboot in dos mode and rename win.com to win.old. Then run setup.
