run-time error R6003 WITH FDISK

I have built a computer with a new motherboard(rhino-18)with an Intel P-100 CPU.
I am trying to fdisk a 840Mb hard drive(used
but it is a good one) but get the run-time error R6003. I have tried disenabling the internal cache in bios,also disenabled video bios etc but no joy. Can any-one help me ?
