each time i boot my laptop i get a message flash in red "partition table corrupted - save to disk feature disabled" .. the computer works as normal (running win95) , except it siezes when i try to format c: through DOS.

can anyone help? ... (I have now tried FDISK /mbr .. it didn't help.)

Deleteing and creating a new partition is what i originally did with FDISK, i guess the boot sector must be damaged or have a virus. Any ideas how to fix that?

Try FDISK /mbr
See if that doesn,t set you right first.

This assumes that you are running a single partition. If you are trying to install clean, use FDISK to delete all partitions then create new ones. Unless the boot sector has been damaged by a virus or has a physical defect you should be clean. This, of course,is an extreme measure if you have data that you don't want to lose.
