THIS WAS THE FIRST TIME I LOADED WIN 93 INTO A COMPUTER. THE COMPUTER IS FROM AROUND 1992 AND I HAVE NO IDEA HOW TO USE IT. OK HERES MY PROBLEM. ON MY COMPUTER RIGHT NOW ALL I HAVE IS LOTUS 123 FROM LIKE 5 YEARS AGO.
WHAT I WANT TO DO BUT AM HAVING PROBLEM IS TO JUST PUT LOTUS 123 AND ALL OF MY SAVED WORK INTO MY WINDOWS 3.0. I'VE INSTALLED WIN 3.0 BY FOLLOWING ALL THE DIRECTIONS STEP BY STEP.
WHEN I TRY TO OPEN A FILE I GET SOMETHING LIKE "NO ASSOCIATION EXISTS FOR THIS DATA FILE".
CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP I'M REALLY STUMPED.

I got conused by your numbers. Windows 93 must be 3.0 or 3.1. You have to create an Icon to start the program by point and click. Your Lotus 1 2 3 program with its files (your work included) should be intact. You can run them in windows or in DOS. You can click on the Program FILE menu and select RUN. Type the Path and program filename and the program should start as if youwere in DOS. You can also open a DOS windows and run it just as you would at DOS. I haven't used 3.1 for while so I don't recall if File association is available.
Hope some of this helps. Please post back so we can learn what works.

In Windows 3.1 you CAN associate a file type with a program. You select the file name, then open the file menu. One of the options is "Associate" and from there you can create the association, so double-clicking that file name will automatically try to open the file using the associated software.
