There are a few things you can do to check that your system is properly configured to run the DOS games. The best source of information is the company that produced the game. There maybe a READ.ME file (or similar text document) that will give you more information. Sometimes you need to modify the AUTOEXEC.BAT and/or CONFIG.SYS files to include commands specified by the game publisher.
Some games will not run properly if you try to launch them from within Windows; the only way they will run is if you boot directly to DOS.
You should also read the documentation that came with your sound card for instructions on how to make the equipment work in DOS.
Hope this helps http://discussions.virtualdr.com/smile.gif

You probably don't have any dos drivers loading for your sound card. There should be drivers that came with your card or you can download them. If you boot up and go directly to the games and not into windows, you will need to add the driver commands to config.sys and autoexec.bat. If you load windows first then exit to dos to play the game, you need to load the drivers in c:\windows\dosstart.bat.
Good luck.
