I am using a powerbook G3 with a superdisk. About 50% of my files are not opening properly. I used Norton Utlities to resolve the damage resource forks, but this program does not help. What can I do to fix this files. The data is important to me....

Greetings,
Which OS are you running and have your tried zapping the parameter ram and rebuilding the destop?
Sorry for the "basic-ness" of my query. Just wanted a little more detail.
Thanks,
TC

I am running MACOS 8.6. Is Parameter ram the same as P-ram?

yes, parameter ram is the same as PRAM.
Occasionally, older version of Nortons will report that it has fixed these types of problems when it really hasn't. Try TechTool Pro from MicroMat.
