I have bought a External PC Card Case for 2.5" IDE Hard Drive sold by MCE PowerBook. After installing a drive I have found that when I try to copy multiple files it will lock up the system after moving only affew files.

I beleive that the problem is that the drive run substantially slower than the internal drive. Is there an extention that will allow the drive to run without locking up the system.

I got a reply for my question from the people I bought the drive case from.

The drive was locking up do to a problem with OS8.5 and virtual memory. For the PCMCIA drive to work make sure that virtual memory is turned off.
