Scanner Problems

I have a Mac (Preforma) and an Umax Astra 600s. The other day I tried to scan something that it didn't like and it seems to be stuck or something - every time I try to get to the scanner now I get a message saying that: end-of-file has been reached, and it won't let me get to the scanner. I'm hoping there is an easy fix to get my scanner operating again.

Any ideas/help would be appreciated.
