What is a SIT file

Hi
I have been sent a *.SIT file by a Mac user
It some sort of image
But i can't open it with my PC
Can anyone help :-)

".SIT" is a Macintosh Stuffit file-a common compression format used on the Macintosh platform. Tell your friend to send the file, if he can in either the original format or a ".ZIP" or other readable format (he can find many mac programs to do that).
