Five minutes of no activity and I'm no longer on the internet. To get back on, I have to wait on another dial-on. There has to be a way to set the dialer NOT to dissconnect but I can't find it under preferences or options or dialer. What I have found doesn't change anything.

I would talk to your ISP. If what you've found hasn't worked they may have it set to do that. Most ISP's do set a limit so that other users can logon.
I would also check out shareware sections and try and find a program that will alow you to beat this. I would look under internet tools...

I hope this helps...

Five minutes is ridiculous! I had that same problem with my ISP, mine was 20 minutes.

If I connect at a good speed, and wish to leave my terminal for a while, I have a site that I can go to that constantly changes the ads on its page. The ISP sees this as network activity, thus I never time out.

I can provide this site to you, but not on open forum. Lets just say, you have to be 18.

If you go to www.macol.net they have freeware called FreePPP that will allow you to not get bumped off. The instructions for installation are easy and I've had no trouble. It is totally compatible with Mac OS.
