All of his user profile and drive information was copied over to the new machine. For the new computer I have changed the name of the computer and I have given it a different tcpip but when I attempt to log onto the domain I get an error message saying that it conflicts with the older machine. What can I do so that my President can log on with his old profile????? AKA- The ultimate gaming machine. patweb March 12th, 2002, 05:39 PM Pick a totally different name for the new name. ie. Xanzabar! First, put the computer in a workgroup with a generic name. Then change the computer name (if the old one is airforce1, do not use airforce2). Then hit OK, go back in and change from workgroup to domain, use your domain. When prompted, choose to add the computer to the domain.
