Whenever I put a new machine on my network, it fails until I install netbeui. It gives me "cannot locate domain name" when it fails.
I am running DHCP. Is something happening with the type of broadcast?? For instance, do I need M node instead of B node broadcast? How do I find out what type of broadcasts are being done?? How do I change them if I have to? Thanks!

First of all, I suppose that you have installed TCP/IP?
Have you installed "Client For Microsoft Networks"?
Have you chosen to log on with "Client For Microsoft Networks"?
Have you configured the workgroup name, or domain name correctly?
Do you have a NTServer as a BDC?
Does it have DHCP service installed?
OR
Do you have a peer-to-peer network?

Do you use WIN95/98 or NT40 on the PCs that you try to connect?

When you use NETBEUI, are you able to log on to the domain(if you have a domain)? Or starts the PCs a if it were a standalone PC, and when you use Network Neighbourhood you can access the other machines?

Do you have WINS service running? I would use the H (Hybrid) mode for broadcasting.
