I have Exchange 5.5 running on NT4 with a pop3 retrieval command inserted in the Internet Mail Connector.
Everything works fine - except for when the proxy connection on the server is in use for the internet. The mail is still sent through exchange, but the retrieval command isn't being executed as the line is already open.
Any ideas gratefully appreciated.

not quite sure what your problem is, try explaining a little more.

Sorry for the delay - Easter Break and all that.
I have Exchange 5.5 working fine on our server - dials up, sends messages, sends retrieval command, hangs up. Great.
When the line is already in use for the internet and the time comes for Exchange to do it's stuff there's a problem: The mail has already been sent as the line is open, but the POP3 retrieval command isn't sent at the designated time - a bit of a problem when the internet is being used so much each day!
Hope that makes it a bit clearer.

Hey there I don't have the answer to your question, but I did want to ask you how you setup your sytem. I've been trying for like weeks to get it to work.
I have Exchange 5.0 Proxy 2.0 all on a dial up. on NT server 4.0 with service pack 5
I once had it where I was getting mail in outlook on a client machine.
but the mail was never sent. It just sat there on the server in the Que.
PLease if you can shed some light as to what I'm doing wrong I'd appreciate it.
I mean could it be in my TCP/IP settings. Or my DNS or what.
DO tell.
Thanks in advance,
