Has anyone successfully used partition magic to repartition their primary (boot) drive? If so what version did they use. When I installed NT I set the entire hard drive as one partition (NTFS) and would like to add WIN 98 but need to "repartiton" my hard drive without reformatting.

I've used Partition Magic for just about everything.

I have mostly used 3.04, but 4.0 I just got and it is real nice.

If you have only a NT partition currently, you'd be best getting a copy of the new 4.0.

And yes, you can use it to partition your boot partition. UNLESS it is a RAID setup, then you need to buy Server Magic from Powerquest.

I would recommend you get Server Magic, if you want to repartition your server. I just did mine last Thursday with Partition Magic 4.0 . I had some assistance but it still took a couple of hours and a few phone calls to the PowerQuest support line. They were very helpful, but said that the license really did not cover what I was doing. However that said, once it was done everything works great and I did not lose a single file.

Sorry for leaving out some details. I want to do this to an NT workstation.

Go with Raider Adam, Partition Magic 4 runs under NT so you get all the benefits of a graphical interface. Be careful though, resist the temptation to build up a sequence of events to be followed in 'batch' style, take it one step at a time.
