Reformatting 8 GB FAT-32 Partition with NTFS

Greetings from the great state of Colorado!

I got a new computer with 10 GB HD, firt 2 with WIN-98 on FAT-16 and the rest in FAT-32.

I want to install WINNT 4.0 WS SP3 and get rid of WIN-98. However, NT Disk Administrator won't reformat the partition, maybe due to size, maybe because it's FAT-32.

If you know a solution and would be kind enough to pass it on it would be indeed appreciated.

Make a windows 98 startup disk and fdisk the drive with it but when it asks to if you want to use large disk support say no and it should give you fat 16 which nt can recognize.

After a fdisk (from a win98) disk, you must have a primary partition of about 2GB. Then leave the rest of your 8Gb alone and boot your machine with NT disks (3 in total) Here at the 3rd disk you will be shown an option as to the install location of NT. Here delete the 2GB partition and NT will see the whole disk as a 10GB unformated chunk. Start your NTFS formating and your do the rest.
