microsoft outlook / exchange server

im wondering if the Contact's in outlook can be made global over a network, so that all people using outlook on my network, can see the same list of contacts. this would of course be stored on an NT_server with ms exchange server running, and outlook 97. possibly outlook 98 if i upgrade.. if this can not be done,. is there a way to have two separate global address books, that all users can access? any help in this matter would be VERY helpful.

if your setup is similar to mine, this should be fairly straightforwaed. in the address book window of outlook, under the toolbar on the right side, it will have a drop down box that says "show names from the:" which will list personal, post office, and outlook. select post office, and presto, all of the users who are in that db will show up. this can be made the default in tools -- options, "show this address list first" and selecting post office. hope it helps....

There are a few things you could try. First from Exchange Admin, select server name and then create a new recipients container. This should be viewable from Outlook clients although editing is only via Exchange Admin.

You could of course give other users permission to access/edit your own contact folder by right clicking, properties, permissions etc

Last option (that I know of), from within Outlook, create a new Contacts sub-folder under Public folders. Give access permissions. This will be stored on the server but whoever has permissions can edit, create etc...
