Not sure where this really belongs but I think it might be an app causing this error so I am posting in this forum. If it's not correct I apologize.

I keep getting this small window that pops up on my screen, not while browsing the internet, but usually on my desktop screen. Anyway, I've attached a screenshot of it. I am hoping that someone will recognize it and can tell me which app is causing it.

Doesn't really seem to happen when I am doing something it's just there whenever I wake up my computer. Everything seems to work OK, and I'm not having any problems with any app, that I know of.

Anybody ever see it before?

A Google of the error message looks like its releated to a com (serial) port..Do you have something like an modem (the old dial up kind) installed?

You should look in Event Viewer...

Are you running any Serial port (COM port) devices?

whenever I wake up my computer

That is often the problem right there. While sleep / hibernation work fine on some computers, on others you get these little glitches all the time :( If this isn't happening after the PC is booted up from cold, then you may just have to live with it.

Sorry guys for taking so long to get back to this, but I have been really busy with things lately. I got computers crapping out all around me lately, for some reason. I'm not sure but I think it may be affecting the computer on my truck as well as it is beginning to crap out on me now. sheesh!

Anyway, no I am not running any com or serial port devices. In fact the only com port on my computer is disabled in the bios.

But, after checking I did see that there are a couple virtual com ports in device manager installed by my Blackberry. They are RIM virtual serial port v2 (com 4 & 5)

Could those be causing this?

I've also noticed that I only seem to get it when I wake the computer from hibernation. Once I click it away it doesn't return until the next wake up.

Bye the way, I should probably mention that I am running Windows Ultimate Vista 64 and not XP pro like it says in my sig. I need to update that.

Thanks a lot for the help...Randy

Serial is serial and I suggest staying away from hibernation now that you are using the blackberry..

So, you are saying that the serial ports and hibernation do not get along?

What about computer sleeping instead?

FWIW, XP's "Standby" works fine here with a Blackberry Curve 8350i.

You have proved it to my satisfaction.

Windows and hibernation do not get along. I've never seen it work properly, ever. Disable it and you'll be happier.

Ok, I think I should clear up a couple things, as I may have mis-spoke, eh typed earlier.

I am running Vista Ultimate 64, not XP, and after looking at my power settings, the terminology that vista uses is "putting the computer to sleep". It doesn't say hibernation. I think I just used that term as a habit from XP, but I don't see the term hibernation used in vista. Maybe it doesn't make any difference...I don't know, but I have a feeling I will after all of this.
