Anybody else getting bad sound? This is the first VM I've installed that didn't just use the host's sound. I had to get a driver thru windows update.

The sound skips and jerks and pops and sounds like I'm trying to listen to an old LP that the kids have played frisbee with.

I've tried Winamp, Irfanview, Media Player Classic, WMP, and Media Center. They all sound nasty.

A quick google shows a lot of people having a similar problem but I couldn't fiind a solution. Geez, even talk radio sounds like the speakers are blown.

All my system sounds are distorted but I tried a couple of media files and they seem ok. I hadn't been using it to view media because of lack of codecs and RAM but besides visible symptoms of low resources the movie sound is ok.

No problems at all with my Creative X-Fi, music or anything else. But that needs the Creative drivers to work anyway.

On a related note, anyone know where visualisations in Media Player went?

Figured it out.

View, Now Playing, R-click the screen and select what you want.
Got lucky. I was in library mode.
