I have a movie in rmvb format. It plays perfectly fine on my computer.
Since it's Polish movie, I wanted to burn it on DVD for my mom.
At first, using sevaral different converters, I tried to convert it to avi format in order to burn it to DVD, but video was just horrible, so I abandoned this way of doing it.
Since I don't even remember ever burning rmvb file to DVD, I did some reading, and I found possible solution.
I used S_o_t_h_i_n_k Movie DVD Maker to burn rmvb file to my hard drive in DVD format (Audio_TS, Video_TS folders). Then, using ImgBurn, I burned it to DVD.
So far, so good.
On my computer, DVD works perfectly fine: audio, video in very good quality.
Now, here is a very weird part.
I put DVD into my standalone DVD player (1 year old).
Video is perfect, MUSIC background is perfect, but dialogues are not audible. Dialogue volume level is like 1 out of 10.
I assume, must be bad copy of the movie, but, if anyone has any thoughts....??

Was the original file in 5.1 surround sound? Maybe the center/front channel didn't convert correctly?

I haven't used it for the format your working with, but Super (http://www.erightsoft.com/SUPER.html) has worked well for me in the formats I convert.

If you try it,be patient when you open it. It can take several minutes to open...

I have no idea. How can I check?

I tried Super in the past, but for some reason, which I don't remember now, I wasn't happy with it.
