Thanks 104456 August 26th, 2008, 09:54 AM A service like www.yousendit.com is good for hosting files.Note you dont need a valid email to send the file to just input anything that looks like one and it will give you a link to post on after uploading to their server. jdc2000 August 26th, 2008, 10:00 AM Most zipping programs have an option to split the file into parts. Or you can download a freeware file splitter program. Drs Orders August 26th, 2008, 10:08 AM Thanks for the replys . was just looking at this one . http://www.transferbigfiles.com/ Going to check into freeware file splitter also . Train August 26th, 2008, 12:52 PM The file splitter. Old but right good. http://www.lurkhere.com/~nicefiles/index.html Oversize files, I upload to my website [free from my isp] and send a link. I have a 1 GB limit on the site size wise though. Drs Orders August 26th, 2008, 01:05 PM Thanks Train . I want to send the contents of a CD . Do you need a web site for this , or can you send directly to another e mail account ? Train August 26th, 2008, 01:12 PM CD, that is rather large and in that case, I just burn a copy of the cd and mail it. I use a bubble mailer and stretch wrap 2 or more cds, but for 1 cd it cost me about a $1 to mail. About $1.50 for 3 cds/dvds. That is the cheapest and easiest way to handle it I found. No, I do not insure the package either and have sent many a cd/dvd over they years with out a lose or damage to a one. Hope that helps! 104456 August 26th, 2008, 01:13 PM Many email accounts have limits like your own so Id suggest an upload site like http://www.sharebig.com/ which has password access for security. You can use something like winrar to make it more managable as multiple uploads Drs Orders August 26th, 2008, 01:19 PM Thanks , You might be on to something Train . Have to send it to seven people , and not sure everyone has high speed internet . Train August 26th, 2008, 01:23 PM 500 MB could be a bit much to download for dialups when they slap a 24K restriction on the line like they do here. :( And yes, it is a mom and pop telco and what they are doing is legal. :( :( But I be on cable because of that so I have no problems. virtualdr.com
