Hi there,

When I download an AVI from the web and stream it to my Xbox 360, it always plays perfectly. But when I rip a DVD to AVI and play it, it skips and doesn't play correctly at all. My question is, what way should I rip an AVI for it to be compatible with the Xbox 360? I'm guessing I'm using some unsupported codec or something, and the majority of AVIs from the web and encoded using some common codec that the Xbox 360 understands.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You could use Gspot to find out what codecs are used to encode the ones that work then follow suite yourself...

http://www.headbands.com/gspot/

Just drag&drop the clip onto the interface and it will give you a lot of info incl video and audio
codecs. If you have installed a Klite codec pack in the past you may already have this utility on your
computer.
