I have some emails in my PC and I am trying to move them to my Laptop.
I use OE6 in both.
I copied the "dbx" files individually and pasted them into my laptop where all the other "dbx" files are. But they do not show at all.
What am I doing wrong please?
Thank you.

Outlook Express

In Outlook Express, select File --> Export and select Address book. I recommend that you use a comma-separated values (CSV) format as it's more portable and can be recovered if something happens since it's just a basic text file. Copy that onto the new computer, choose File --> Import, and select the CSV file. That should do it!

Backing up email is more difficult, however.

Here's the basic process in Outlook Express: Under Tools --> Options, click the "maintenance" tab. This will tell you where your email is stored. Now copy all of those files onto your new computer (if you make a CDROM you'll have a nice permanent backup too) and then put them in the exact same folder on the new system (while you aren't running Outlook Express). Restart the app and you should have all your mailboxes intact.

Hmmm, here are some steps for coping email folders:
1. Back up the whole folder under Folder Location of the OE in both machines.
2. In the laptop, run OE, create a folder with exactly the same name as the folder in the PC that you want to move.
3. After creating it, click it once under OE. Close OE.
4. Copy the folder in PC onto a media such as USB flash drive or if both machines are connected over the network, copy it to the shared folder.
5. Paste the copied folder in the OE mail folder to replace the created one.
6. Open the OE in the laptop and check whether you got all mails. If OK, repeat for other folders.

Good luck.
