Hi all,

I did some searching but my problem seems a little different then what I am reading from other posts. Ok I have a total of 3 machines all running XP sp2. All the machines are connected to my linksys router and the are part of a workgroup named "household". The machines aren't all always on.

The problem I am having is when I go to network places and click "Entire Network" then "Microsoft Windows Network" then "household" there is an extreme delay. This delay ends up with both computers not finding each other unless I restart one of the computers again. Basically I go into properties and make sure they are both part of "household".

All machines except one have static IP numbers.

You might check to see if NetBIOS over TCP/IP is enabled on all of the PC's. The attached screen capture might be useful.

jdc2000 thanks for the reply,

Just checked out the settings you mentioned and in the NetBIOS settings I had Default selected (Use NetBIOS setting fron the DHCP server. If stati IP address is used or the DHCP server does not provide NetBIOS setting, enable NetBIOS over TCP/IP)

So I just set it to the one you suggested (Enable NetBIOS over TCP/IP)

thanks for the suggestion I will try this and check to see if it worked! :)
