Ok, I got a laptop recently at Black Friday, while I am well aware that laptops arent designed for high-end gaming, especially a cheap one, my desktop is VERY old and the laptop is already many times more powerful in terms of CPU and Memory speed, power, and even amount. However, I am pretty sure it's 3D hardware is much weaker.
So I wanted to benchmark it to see which system performs better, and if the official ATI drivers or the Omega drivers perform better. This desktop has Windows 2000 with DX9 and the laptop has Vista Home Premium with DX10.
However, despite the fact that its December 2007.... Futuremark still only has 3Dmark2006 listed, on top of that, 2006 refused to run because it dosen't support DX10, they claim 2007 will support it.
I tried looking for other popular benchmarking programs but all I found was Crystalmark, which is mostly for benchmarking the CPU and Memory, Aquamark which is several years old and out of date, and FFXI Benchmark which is only for benchmarking performance in the game Final Fantasy XI Online.
Is 3DMark2007 coming out anytime soon? Or is there any other popular benchmark app I can use?
Also, how do scores from different versions of 3DMark compare? Futuremark says that nothing under 3DMark07 will work on DX10 but that 3DMark07 will be vista only, so I can't use it on my desktop. Can you compare the scores from 3DMark06 to 3DMark07 or would they be completely non-represensative from each other?
