Every time I try to play a DVD on my PC using Windows Media Player I get an error message saying it can't play DVD. WMP suggests that I change my video resloution. I haven't tried this because I don't want to have to do this every time I play a DVD. The DVD's play fine on a DVD player attached to my TV.
I have Vista Business. Any suggestions? Are there any free DVD players out there that are safe and free of adware, etc.
Thanks

Here's the latest Vista codec pack...
http://www.free-codecs.com/download/Vista_Codec_Package.htm
which will allow you to use WMP to view DVD's and all the other items listed there.

Ok, I downloaded and installed the "codec". Restarted my system. WMP still won't play DVD. Any suggestions?
Thanks

I've also used Videolan player for DVD's (combined with that codec pack) and it's free and Vista compatible...

I'd suggest not letting it automatically associate with other video files/extensions but use it for DVD's or to drag and drop other files only.
