Hello. I'm not sure if this is the right place for this so please move it to where i will get the best advice. Thanks

I'm due to start an MCSE in 3 weeks time and today at work a chum of mine, who already has an MCSE, tells me that from next year the MCSE will be scrapped in place of MCTS. I'm not sure if he's entirely insane or not because when i looked up the MCTS on the microsoft website, it looks as though it is just for specialisation and nothing like the MCSE at all.

Am i about to waste the next 2 years of my life? or am i about to learn a near redundant specification?
