I have a question about my DSL connection. Once and awhile I will click on a web page and nothing happens. I can close out my browser and try to go back in and the connection is gone. I tried to get to my E Mail and can't. After a couple of minutes it will re-connect. How can I determine if it is my DSL provider on my end? I am on BellSouth DSL.

Your signal to niose ratio is a key factor in a good connection.
18 would be good if it at 14 you will be losing your connection at 12 you may not be able to connect.
You should be able to log in to your modem an see the info.
You will need to google the part number to see the IP needed.
For mine I use http://192.168.100.1/
They may need to send someone out to connect a tester at your demark location.
They would then tell you if its the phone co wiring or yours.
If its your wiring they would bill you for the service call.
I recommend that you run a CAT 5 cable from the demark to your modem. CAT5 is twisted and cancils out noise. CAT3 is not twisted and picks up noise. (CAT3 is standard phone wire)
If you have cable TV and Cable internet is available, I would make the switch from DSL to Cable.

Do you have all your filters installed on all the phones, etc, but not on the modem?
