Hello again. Once again I need some help. Seems I have a problem after an error involving the AOL toolbar in IE7 (also use Firefox), I ran file checker which asked for my WinXp CD. I ran through it and found all the computer settings were changed and couldn't get them back (screen res.). I then proceeded to use system restore which got me back to the original state. Finally I uninstalled IE7 through Add / Remove and then reinstalled it. Now everything is working very well EXCEPT not being able to click on links in my outlook express email.
I am running windows Xp Home sp2, using Windows Live Onecare
Thanks

Tom, Many times registering the referenced dll files as shown under the Resolution section at the link below corrects the problem. Also set Internet Explorer as the default browser.

I cannot resolve this as of yet. the other five .dll files were successfully repaired or not in need of repair.
Now what?? I also think I have Firefox set as default. If I need to put IE7 as default how would I go about it? Thanks again

Tom, I'm using IE6 but I think the methods at the links below should work.

Making IE the default browser solved my problem. I believe I had FF as my default in the past without any problems but I can live with this. Thank you

Installed IE7 several days ago. When I tried accessing Outlook I got a window asking me to enter my network password. Never would connect. Un-installed....... went back to normal. Going to leave it alone..............

I also encountered this problem after reinstalling (restoring then updating to IE7)
I always had Firefox as my default before with no problems. In fact my desktop PC the links work fine with Firefox as the default. The difference is not having upgraded to IE7.
Anyway, I can live with this fix just as tpm has said.:)

Hello David. I since went back to making FF the default browser and so far things are doing just fine. I figure every now and then we may need to go back to our preferences and choose our default program if things should go haywire in outlook again
Have a great day

That IS weird. Now links open in Firefox just as they always have.
I wonder why Bill and the Micro$oft dummies  always have to f&%# with everything.
