convert MP3 to CDA

I record our church services in MP3 format for posting on the internet, but I need to be able to convert them to CDA format for standard audio CD's. Any recommendations for a good, preferably cheap or free. I'm not looking for studio quality. The recordings are not even in stereo.

Cda format is what you get when you burn them to a audio cd.
The burning program converts them from MP3 to CDA (CDDA). And at the same time, you will lose the track labels.

I've done the Google search. There are just so many programs to choose from that I was hoping to narrow down my options by getting some recommendatins. I've tried using WMP10, but it takes all the time to convert the file, then burns what appears to be the equivalent of a shortcut to the cd and not the actual file.

dbpoweramp is a very good utility for doing conversions and more. Not free any more unfortunately but you can try it out on trial..

Jetaudio is very good. So is Cooledit pro. I'm not sure which of all these programs is free and which is trialware though so it may take a bit of experimenting on your part. Jetaudio has always had freeware versions that have some limited functionality. That's where I'd start.

Do the CDs you've made with WMP10 play ok? They should... :)

When WMP10 burns the CD, it is converted to CDA and the complete music files are on the CD. The reason why it looks like only a tiny little shortcut is there for each song is because that is the way Windows shows CDA files when on a CD.

If you want to see the actual files that make up the song catalog (and have the ability to pull individual songs from it if you want) you would need something like free ISO Buster to view/work with the files. http://www.isobuster.com/ (Note that the free and paid versions are both in the download. It depends on what you choose as you install the program.)

BTW, any other audio CD's I've burned as backups do play there.

What burning program are you using.

Slow the burning speed down.
Could be the one in the Ford does not like that brand of cd. Seen that.

Don't get me wrong, I'll try it, but the cd's wouldn't play on my home cd player either, so I don't think the problem is just with my car.

Also, when I put the disc into my computer and look at the details, it only shows that little reference file, definitely not large enough to be a cda file.

I'll try it, though, just to make sure.

Right click the file and select properties
Check the size and what else it says.
Let us know and maybe we can get to the bottom of this mess.

Found an alternate. I burned a file using lastest RealPlayer and it works. I'm not asking questions. I'm just gonna use it. Maybe I was doing something wrong, or maybe it was the software. I'm just glad I found something that will do the job.
