Hi everyone.

I've been living booting problems with Vista for a time.
I'm also using bootIt NG for the starting.
First Partition 130GB XP Pro SP2
Second Partition 25GB.. For vista..

Both for x86 and x64 versions.
The installation ends up without any problems.. Vista works out very well..
Then I restart my PC and boot it with bootIt NG Floppy and reactive it.
From then, Vista never boots. I select Vista from bootIt NG menu, then the PC restarts immediately.

I also upgraded bootIt NG , but it didnt solve the problem.

Vista is not cracked or sth like that. Offical beta 5365 downloaded form Microsoft.

and BTW
XP continues to work without any problems.

Thanks a lot .

Vista has a new boot manager and I would imagine that bootIt isn't set to run Vista....You shouldn't need a 3rd party boot manager to boot XP & Vista...

I also thought bootng is unable to run with Vista but,
here's what exactly terabyte unlimited says about bootng

Compatible with all Windows versions (9x/ME/NT/2K/XP/2003/Vista

Hi thekillingroad, welcome to Virtual Dr :)

As Steve says the Vista bootloader is utterly different to what has gone before. And also, being beta, it is quite possible changing a bit between each build, so 3rd party programs may only work on one particular build. I've found that some Vista drivers wouldn't load on 5365.

If you are only dual booting between Vista and XP you really don't need that 3rd party program anyway. I'm triple booting Vista, WinMCE and Win XP x64 using the standard bootloaders and there is no problem at all.

Thanks a lot :)

Yep I dont really need 3rd party booter. That was just installed and its still there :)
Think I'm gonna install Vista again and stay with only that for a while.

Thanks everyone.

before you reactivate bootit you must capture the mbr.
So you have to reinstall vista in that way the mbr is overwritten by vista.
Restart with the bootit floppy or cd, click capture the mbr
choose a name for your mbr (vista.mbr) and reactivate bing
When you edit the entry in bootit, use the captured mbr and swap.
