When xp was introduced MS had a site that would test a pc and give a printout of what would run and what wouldn't.
Is there any thing similar available yet?

Not yet that I know of. Vista does have a built in "rate my pc" function...

Proposed Vista Compatibility Test Ratings:
1. "Screamer": The Microsoft Vista development team would like to come over and use your computer......Are you willing to sell?
2. "Pretty Kewl": Vista will run great on your computer. The Microsoft Vista development team would like to come over and take pics of your machine to share with their friends.
3. "Okey-Dokey": Vista will run OK on your computer, but it's nothing to get all excited about.....(you might consider putting it on Ebay).
4. "Hmmmmmm": Vista will run on this machine. Well...."run", relatively speaking. Kind of like trying to get roadkill to "run".
5. "Test Failure": We're sorry, but the Vista Compatibility test will not run on your computer. This test was not designed to be run by a doorstop. Thank you for your participation.
