Hello,
I am looking to build a Win2000 server with at least a terabyte of space(HD) from scratch and was wondering if anybody else has a parts list or a recommendation of where to purchase parts.
Thanks Much

Are you looking to run a box with Win 2K server, and then a SAN with a terabyte of space? will you want SCSI drives? have you got a budget in mind?

Hello,
This server will be used for computer image(ghost) storage. I am looking to spend around $1900.00??

So are you looking to run a seperate server with Win 2K server OS, and have a Storage server for the ghost images on the network, and have access to the files that way, or do you want them physically on the same server?
How many systems are there that the ghost images will be coming from? are they all the same spec, with the same size hard drives installed?

Thanks for the replies. I am looking to put all the images on the win2000 server. I have a varity of images for all different types of system loads. I am looking to increase my storage capability by using this server.

Assuming you're in the US, you can customise servers on TigerDirect.com and i have tried a custom build, with the following specs:
Intel P4 CPU 630 3.0 GHz/800FSB/2M S775
1GB DDR2 4200
2 x 400gb SATA drives
1 x 250gb SATA drive
So that is a P4 3.0Ghz, with 1gb of 553Mhz DDR2, and 1.05TB across 3 drives, so that you could implement RAID 0. And it is in a standard ATX case.
Price: $1,569.96
Just an idea, you can customise your own here: Here (http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/category/category_slc.asp?Recs=10&Nav=|c:1360|&Sort=0)
