Windows XP Home Edition
5.1.2600 Service Pack 2 Build 2600
AMD Athlon XP 1900+ 1.60 ghz
512 megs of ram
Nvidia graphics card

This has been happening for awhile and recently it just got worse when we would play games for a long time the computer would just restart. One time we got a BSOD which said I ran out of physical memory it also listed some file names but I forgot to write it all down.

We cleaned the dust out of the video cards fan but it still causes the system to restart and I fear that if it continues I will eventually need to reinstall windows xp.

Also no virus's or trojan horses were found on this computer.

Can you go into My computer|Right click and select Properties|click the advanced tab, and in the startup and recovery section click settings, and untick automatically restart, this will let you see the BSOD for lon enough to write it down, so if it happens again post it back here.

What video card is it? (Model/video memory) what games are you playing when it happens? do you have any case fans installed?

Please download Everest home (In my signature) and run it, click Computer|Sensor, and post back the info it gives you.

Atleast thats what the report says, but it might be wrong for the video card.

Reason for wondering if it may be reporting a wrong card because this computer I have is a Alienware computer and I would be expecting alittle more memory size on the card. Unless it's damaged from over heating (Didn't dust it for awhile one time) before I had to reinstall windows xp the system was working all right.

Not sure about this question or not but if you reinstall windows xp do you have set it somewhere in windows to use the video card in the AGP slot. Reason for asking is this motherboard I have has on-board video.
