I've got a couple of games that I'd like to be able to install and play correctly under Windows XP SP2, but I'm not having much luck. Just thought I'd see whether this had already been solved or not. The two products are:

1) Longbow Anthology : This is Longbow I and Longbow II in a boxed set.
2) Falcon 4.0 : the F-16 simulator

In both these cases, the initial menus load, but the game crashes when you are just beginning to really play the game. I've tried the standard compatiblity options, but that doesn't seem to help.

My machine is XP SP2 with 1gig of memory. I'm just hoping there's a patch or a method somewhere for these two games, as neither is available as a fully XP compatible upgrade (so far as I can determine), and I miss having them available.

Any advice will be appreciated! :D

For the falcon game, here's the installation guide: http://www.f4hq.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=225

I can't see any OS requirements for that game, it mentions optimal hardware being A64/1gb RAM, so i'm guessing XP would be standard.

As for Longbow Anthology, if the compatibility mode isn't helpful, then i'm not sure of the next best route......

Thanks Liam, I'm downloading all the instructions and the two patches for Falcon now. Still looking into the Longbow issue. It's SUCH a good helicopter game, I've never seen better (graphics aren't quite state-of-the-art, but flyability? forgetaboutit!)
