Ah you can tell it's after Christmas, all the PC game installation issues.
So, my son got Imaginext Battle Castle PC and Imaginext Pirate Raider PC and upon trying to install them I get the following errorAn error occured while launching the setup (0x80040707)And the game does not work.
After some playing around, I found that if I install in the default location of D:\Program Files\Imagnext(TM) (I've used Tweakui to change th location of Program Files to D: ) the install works, but If I try and point to any other location eg H:\Games\Imagnext(TM) or D:\Games it fails and when trying to play the game it says the CD is not present.
I found that in the default location an .ini file is created with amongst other things, all the paths to the install and CD files etc, but if I install it elsewhere the ini file is not updated for the correct paths.
I installed in the default location for both games and then manually moved them to the H:\Games\Imagnext(TM) location and updated all file and registry references.
I'll have to try it on an installation where I haven't used Tweakui as maybe that is causing the issue.
At least I got it working after about 10 minutes which was all that mattered to my 6 year old.
