Alright, i do know there is another post just like this, just below. Though when i've read the post, my computer stats are slightly different which could different the results, and i didn't feel it was necessary to post my question in her thread.

Anyhow onto the problem, I too got Final Fantasy XI for christmas just yesterday. After my 4 hour install and updates were complete i went to play, a black screen appeared then went away and came back to the small window and said"

"Terminated as error occurred in Final Fantasy XI. Failed to recognize hardware TnL. Please check this computer has required specifications to run Final Fantasy XI. (-1)"

My computer IS a laptop by the way, its a year old on February 26th. I was wondering will it be possible for me to buy a new Graphics Card to install [GeForce or RADEON] and have my game work fine afterwords. Well not totally fine, i wouldn't be surprised if it was a tad laggy, but work pretty well.

Is this possible? Do you have any other suggestions? Because i've always wanted this game so its kind of a dream come true [to a point] for me.

Thank you.

Edit: Apparently you cannot install new graphics cards into a laptop, is there anyway you can? I mean any little way?

It seems to me from your post and the other one similar to this one, that this game simply doesn't like on-board graphics. I don't think there is a chance for you to get this to work on your laptop. And no, you can't change the video card on your laptop.
