Is 75 FPS a low fps? I have a new computer with a nice new video card (GeForce 6600) and I play Diablo II. My fps with my new computer with Diablo II is 75 when with my old computer, which had an older GeForce video card, I remember my fps being higher (in the 100s). I know that when I installed Warcraft III there was a notify saying Warcraft sometimes had a compatability issue with Geforce video cards. I was wondering if anyone knows if the same compatability issue goes for Diablo II and if there's a way to raise my fps.

Diablo 2 is rather old now, and as such the latest patch for the game, coupled with the latest nVidia drivers should improve things.

Every change in resolution/advanced effects has a direct effect on reported FPS, but dont go by numbers, see for yourself how the gameplay is visually.

I suspect you are running at a higher resolution on your new system than you did on your older PC, and resolution has a profound affect on FPS and throughput.

Have you tried reducing your resolution a step or two and measuring the difference?
