Just over a month ago i aquired for next to no money an oldish Compaq laptop,
266 processor, 4gb h/d & 64mb of ram.
The drive was formatted so i installed Win98
second edition, since then i was plagued with lots of errors, blue screens etc, unusable really. So i wiped the drive installed Win95 & since then the machine has run flawlessly, that was over three weeks ago.
Could the 98 disc be buggy?
Any thoughts appreciated.
Cheers all,
Steve.

Hi Steve,
Triple 7's is right. Although you dont say what model you have I'm picking its one of the Armada 4200 series or another that was set up for Win 95. For this and several other series, you have to download special drivers to be able to install Win 98. I've posted the link below in case you want to give it another try sometime: http://www.compaq.com/support/techpubs/whitepapers/prt011b0998.html
