Hi liam858,
Yes, it seems good, certainly politically so for the MP, but do you really think it is going to make a difference? I would suggest that hackers, by their nature, and in the anonymity of the internet, or maybe those who are teenagers just being teenagers, probably feel invulnerable to prosecution, so it wouldn't be much of a deterrent, particularly when the potential payoff can be quite lucrative, or just thrilling. Your thoughts?

After the recent Virus/Worm incidents and the "creator" getting away with it an getting community service i thought that this would then lead to the Malicious Virus Infection laws being changed, as they are kind of in the same league, as the media continue to show cases like the 18 year old in Germany who created a Worm and caused millions of dollars worth of damage it will show other people that you can and will eventually get caught, (in this particular case he got community service eventually, but the original sentence put forward was 10 years) and hopefully sending the message that the laws are becoming stricter will make them think twice about their usual activities.
