Supported 256 MB video card with the newest manufacturer drivers. SiqBeatZ January 19th, 2006, 04:55 PM I am having the same problem. It just started the other day which is very odd.. I have WAYYYYY more than enough power to run this game. P4 3.2 ghz, 2gigs of PC3200 DDR400 RAM, SATA II HD, and a X800 Video card with 256 megs of ram. This isn't a incompatibilty issue.. something else is up, and it's driving me mad!!! It worked just fine the other day.. nothing has changed to the system since then! ARGF! Piesgood January 20th, 2006, 08:58 PM Hope I might help. I always come here for help so Im no expert but, I play BF2 every night .... The same thing has happend to me. Have you got a new patch latley? Anyway...My game did the same thing I had to uninstall the game then reinstall the game simple but it worked? hope you git to play Pie p.s. my in game name is =WMD=WetSpot O yea game dosent like over clocked gpu's igual February 1st, 2006, 03:24 PM yep i play moast nights as well and when that happens just uninstal it then reinstall seems to be the only fix atmo new patch that s due out very soon is suposed to address part of the problem other problems are often to do with the eax sound and also vid drivers regarding sound turn eax off totaly that often helps particialy with audiology cards 123Mags456 February 11th, 2006, 08:42 PM My mate had exactly the same problem. theres a detailed guide on the EA support page that seemed to do the trick for him igual February 12th, 2006, 04:48 PM posiability thatthe starting vidios have been courpted somehow remove these by doing this Get rid of stupid DICE, nVidia and EA movies at start -> faster load Go to Battlefield 2\Mods\BF2\movies and cut everything into a backup folder. that should make the game load faster and will identify if the start vids are corupted as i have seen this happen to a few people Sudano68 February 14th, 2007, 10:32 PM I know this is old, but I have the same problem. I found this thread by google. Does anyone know how to fix it. I tried everything. Reinstalled bf2, directx, latest ati drivers. Still does not work. I meet the system requirements. Tiiesto February 19th, 2007, 04:20 PM Lol lots of unexplained solutions that dont help, here is what you need to do, since this issue has occured to most ppl i kno i decided to get to the bottom of it. Unless you have a POS s**t comp like a p3 or sumtin under 1Ghz, It is not your computers specs, video card, or drivers that are gona crash the game once u double click on the Bf2.exe but the refresh rate not meeting the supported bf2 refresh rate which is 60hz, and most ppl's comp is set higher then this so this is why you are unable to enter the game. To solve this problem, simply go to this link http://www.majorgeeks.com/RefreshForce_d1847.html and you are downloading a file called Refres FOrce which automatically forces ur refresh rate to the original settings which enables the game to run. 1.) Once you download the file run the program called ReForce.exe 2.) On the lower left you will see a "Restore Original Settings" button, CLICK IT, and click YES. 3.)Now try running the Bf2.exe and ther eyou go problem solved, but incase this dosent work, which it should, then before you run the Bf2.exe, go to MyDocuments\ folder and DELETE the Battlefield 2 folder found in there. This enables the game to restore its original settings. Have a dandy Day! PS: To the people saying saying the 6600GT is weak and Bf2 will crash because the card is not strong enough, you are more then wrong, dont listen to comments about buying 300-500$ cards just to be able to run this game when that is not the issue at all. IF you need to upgrade all you need is RAM possibly 1.5Gb of ram or higher. This is my setup which enables me to run BattleField 2 on High with 2x anti-aliasing wit a Rez of 1024x768@120hz which is insane graphix. 6600GT OC (Overclocked) 2GB RAM (OCZ Platinum) 3400 + AMD 64 ASUS Gold (NvidiaForce) MotherBoard Simple ^ laxpunk22 May 20th, 2007, 04:46 PM  this is so shady. well im having the same problem and well its pretty gay i bought the expansion pack ok w.e and none of ur replys aint working and im thinking of getting a new computer any wayz soo any suggestings 4 the best battlefield gameplay ps. i have a dell dimension 3000 w/ windows xp also if u have any other i deas 2 get it to run repost :) liam858 May 20th, 2007, 05:25 PM Hi and Welcome to VDr. :) A Dell Dimension 3000 with onboard graphics and 512mb of memory isn't gonna run many games well, let alone BF2, your best bet would be to build a new rig as dell's use of proprietary parts will limit your upgradeability immensely. Liam laxpunk22 May 21st, 2007, 06:53 PM ok sooo im going to best buy to ask questions on how to upgrade my graphics card and whats suitable 2 run bf2 and i hope he has answers soo wish me luck i reali want 2 play:) laxpunk22 May 28th, 2007, 10:46 AM this is reali gay:mad: my computer fryed from the damn graphics cardgetting a new computer suggestions:confused: DocHemi December 21st, 2007, 12:42 PM Unless you have the below requirements, you may find Battlefield 2 won't play on your computer: Recommended Specification Machine: 2.66 Ghz CPU 1024 Megabytes of RAM 256 MB video card Get th numbers straight.... THOSE ARE NOT THE MIN. REQUIREMENTS...THOSE ARE RECOMENDED YOU CAN RUN BF2 WITH A MACHINE WAY UNDER THE SPECS YOU LISTED photolady December 21st, 2007, 02:44 PM Screaming at a mod won't get you any brownie points either. Battlefield 2 will not play on an laptop with onboard video. And recommendations are what most games play better on, why have them if there is no reason to do so? And since this thread is more than 6 months old. Please don't post in any more old threads. DocHemi December 21st, 2007, 04:17 PM Screaming at a mod won't get you any brownie points either. And your syntax was incorrect..... you said it couldn't be played under those specs. It can be played....the spec you quoted was the recommended not the "minimum" Someone on here directed me to your comment and asked me about it.....I was addressing the wrong information..so old or not it someone had interest in it, so it needs updated DocHemi December 21st, 2007, 04:22 PM Sorry But you info was incorrect DocHemi December 21st, 2007, 04:24 PM You said it would not run under the RECOMMENDED Specs...and it will. Those are not the min specs. And you CAN play on a laptop with onboard video..I DO everyday. I was questioned on your inacurate info by another user, and thought it needed corrected, as other users were confused by it. lgbpop December 21st, 2007, 04:45 PM This thread has been resurrected four times since its inception 2½ years ago - time to put it to bed.
