I have been playing the new Battlefield 2 game.

My VOIP in game disables itself. That is, it works, I know how to use it, and then after a couple of minutes it becomes disabled and I can't speak or hear other people in my squad. It is not possible to enable it from the audio menu without closing BF2 altogether and restarting the game.

I have the normal multimedia microphone and speakers plugs in the back of the comp.

A couple of things that might help:

1. Under audio properties my computer uses Realtek AC97. (This must be the sound driver?, already checked for updated driver off windowsupdate)

2. There is another sound effect program running called ASUS Sound Effect and this senses the connections.

I run XP SP2

Any help, please...

Yes, AC97 is your sound, but using windows drivers are never a good idea; check with your motherboard website for updated drivers instead.
