well then moving on ...I do use the original copy and only the original on my laptop with win 2k SP4 it has 40G hd with 128mb ram.(one thing i am not surfe of is the processor -bought on ebay-it says x86 family 6 model 8 stepping1 AT\AT COMPATIBLE?...well anyway trying to play the game empire earth when i start it the beginning splash screen appears the it sayS eeaoc.exe has caused a problem will be shut down and then it also states it will be making a log of this 1st it takes about 10 min or more to complete this log and once it is complete i try too look at it and there is no information for me on what happened??? In the specific time in wich this happens the log states (progressivelogs)

and that is all I have no idea where the problem lies??

Has the game ever worked ? Have you checked you meet the minimum requirements for the game ?

no game as not ever worked and yes the game says 64 mb ram and pentium 2 processor wich i believe i have pentium 3 but i will try the link and see what that does for me thank you. I will post back

is there a program i can use while i try to start the game that will show me the process and let me find where the problem is?

One thing you could do is have a look at your event viewer and see what info you can gleen or tell us from there. Try running the CD and then immediately look at the viewer (or as soon as you can) and see what correlates with the time of the problem and the events logged in the viewer.

well i opened the viewer started the game and nothing came up in application or system logs? after restarting the pc i now have a log but all it says is event log service was stopped event id 6005 source eventlog???
