No sound from my speakers

There seems to be something wrong with my WMP, it just suddenly stopped play when I was listening to it and burning a CD using Nero at the same time. My version of WMP is 10 and there are no sound coming out of the speakers, I've tried using a different program, like real player 10 to play music but it doesn't work. The status bar on WMP is working fine, but the visualization just froze after 3 seconds of playing. I've tried restarting the computer but it's no use. I've even checked the drivers but there were nothing wrong with them.
Can somebody help me please, coz I can't really live without any music!!!!

Two suggestions and one question.. do system sounds still work?

You could try reinstalling WMP10 and if that doesn't help then try a system restore to a previous state (assuming you're using winxp). Pick a date just before the problem started..

I had system restore switched off, but I've got it working now by uninstalling and install the driver.
