Hi, I was wondering if there is any VCD playing programs out at the moment that i can download. I know there's media player 2, which is good for playing VCD's as it has L/R Mono Audio selection, but the problem is that i always have to browse the cd to get the .dat file to play the VCD.
That's why I would like a program, that automatically starts when inserting a VCD Disc, which has L/R Mono, and brightness adjustment. Mainly so that my family can easily watch VCD videos without worring about what to click on.
Also (sorry to be a pain), but I'm using TMpeg to convert an .mp4 video file to dvd format. But when converting, it always encounters a probem and needs to shut down. Is there any other reliable program that can convert .mp4 files??
Thanks alot!

A quick google gives: http://www.fwnetwork.com/description/quickvcd.html
Quick VCD Player is a free and easy to use media player, specifically for Video CDs (VCD). The Quick-VCD Player requires Windows Media Player 6 or above already installed in the Windows.
Features:
* Auto detects the media CD, and displays the available video files to play in the 'PlayList'. Clicking on any number in the play list will loads and plays the corresponding media file.
* Tracker bar in all modes (Full Screen, Default .etc).
* Context menu support for advanced streaming settings, available in the Windows Media Player.
* Shortcut keys for almost all the functions available in the menus.
* Unlimited CD files/tracks list.
* Loop + CD Continuous play.
* MPG/MPEG file support on files/tracks list buttons.
So see if that works :D

hey, just downloaded the quickvcd player and installed but it isn't the one i'm looking for, as it doesnt have the L/R Audio selecting feature. This feature is need as chinese vcd's have one language encoded one the right speaker and another language on the left speaker.
Any others? Thanks

Hi.. MP4s are basically the same size as an MP3 but are usually higher quality. Ipod/Itunes uses MP4 technology so it is in the market now. But it isn't the same kind of file format as MP3... it's called a "container file" which can be used to "hold" many types of other media formats, audio and video.
Both MP3s and MP4s (audio) are typically 10 times smaller than a CD or wav music file so that's probably what you're referring to.
