We thought you might enjoy a forum devoted to supporting gaming software, and general game discussion. Please be cordial and aware that all posting rules apply here the same as everywhere else on the board. Thank you.

That really is good news. Well done!

Does that include general discussion of games that we like?

Nice addition. Thanks. :)

One question: Is this board going to be limited to PC only games, or can other gaming platforms play here too?

I'm assuming PC only but I thought I'd ask anyway. (I'm PS2 fan) ;)

You can discuss games you like, we do it with other software, just so long as it doesn't turn into a flame war. If that happens, the forum would be removed.

Well this is a Computer forum so I would think it was limited to computer games, yes

PC games it is then. ;)

Flaming; Boy I can relate to that. I used to be an Admin at a gaming site for a few years and we put up a flaming board to try to keep all the fighting out of all the other boards. (a lot of kids were always going at it) However, It only lasted a month because it ended up causing more fights. I couldn't believe what would come out of some kids mouths.

We decided to put up a Warning board instead. One warning then if the member didn't shape up onto the ban list they went. That worked out a lot better, and it was very satisfying sometimes. hehehe... :D

This site is populated by a much more mature member base so I'm guessing that you wont have any problems.

Thanks for the new board.

lol - I think I'm going to retract my statement about maturity. Have fun with your marbles Nix. Wheeeeeee! http://www.free-msn-emoticons.com/emoticons/forum/058[Free-Msn-Emotions].gif

greengoose1 - I feel like I'm letting you down now. The sites I worked at were for platform gaming not PC. (mainly the PS2) I'm sorry, but I guess I'm just another useless member after all. *sniff* http://www.free-msn-emoticons.com/emoticons/other/0812[Free-Msn-Emotions].gif

I just put in a pre-order for Lego StarWars on PS2.

It's for my 5 year old.

Really.

Although it does have 2 player option and 30 playable characters.

That looks like fun! I bet you end up playing it more than your 5 year old does. lol
Let me know how the game is, and keep me up to date on how well you're doing. ;)

I have a question. Is 3DO still in business? New World Computing might be the corporate name, I'm not sure.

Søul

Nope. They filed for chapter 11 in 2003. The PS2 killed 'em.

It was a great shame about 3DO. They made the best baseball game out there.

They also made the Army Men series that my son enjoyed so much. ;)

Battle Tanx was also cool, when it came out...

to tell you the truth, I think that lately the counsle games kinda suck.., I mean.., we have Halo 2, GTA SA.., and uh.., thats basically it..
I miss the SNES days when we had RPG after RPG to beat.., and the PSX RPG's were good too.., but then game the PS2, and no one cares about anything but graphics..

I mean look at the hours it takes to beat FFVII.., compared to the hours it takes to beat FFX, and which took more time/money to make?, FFX of course..,
I had the same amount of fun per hours with each of them.., maybe a little more the FFX, just cause of the graphics.., but in the end.., FFVII took about 4 times longer to beat..

Well this is a Computer forum so I would think it was limited to computer games, yes

well, counsles are computers.., just computers designed specifically for gaming

I have a question about what we are aloud to talk about..
I mean, technically most modding is illegal isn't it? because you replace and distribute copy-righted files that are modded. but there use is completely moral and most game developers like modders because they basically update and release stuff for them, and because they need the original game, they still make money
ie. Valve loves the modder community, Half Life would have never of gotten as far as it did without counter-strike and the other mods.

we also seem to condone the use of programs such as StyleXP that are illegal because they patch windows XP's system files (uxtheme.dll) so that you can apply new visual styles..

thanx in advanced,
Byan

Well some game makers actually encourage it by giving out programs to make ur own such as Max Payne 2, and did Cs emerge from peoples modding of Half Life and then they released it?

Byan

I know that CS was released and I don't know the story behind that, but I do know that CS was originally a mod..
