Hello all,

I just recently moved from Michigan to Rhode island, usa. I'm staying at a friends house right now. They have a cable connection but a pretty out of date computer. So, im trying to hook up my comp to his connection. But my computer wont do anything when i hook the cable up.

Problem is, i left my motherboard ( Aopen, ak77-8xn) CD back in MI, which contained my NIC(realtek 8139/810X) drivers. Intergrated NIC. I looked all over the net for the drivers and all i found were some at http://usa.aopen.com/ .

I downloaded the LAN drivers with my friends computer, put them on a cd and then installed them on my computer. I updated the NIC card with them and...nothing.

Then I tried USB. I installed USB drivers(cd) that came with his cable modem and hooked up the cord. Nothing.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks in advance.

Edit: It's Cox high speed broadband.

You can find the driver on the Realtek site or just click here (http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloads1-3.aspx?series=16&Software=True)
