help with nero

hi

i have nero ver:5.5.9.2 which came with my computer

the problem is my "destination" drive does not show up
but is listed under"source" drive

the only thing listed under destination drive is image recorder
i have tried to update nero to 5.5.10 but the d/load is very slow

the dvd rw drive is sony dw-u18a

any idea's what is wrong?

Sounds like you need to go into Neros option menu and alter the destination from image recorder to the burner of choice.This is under recorder/choose recorder in the newer version

i forgot to mention that i'm talking about nero express.sorry:o

when i launch nero express you can choose your recorder
from a drop-down list.

this list only list's image recorder.this as never happened in 8 month's of owning/using this software.

any idea's

Sounds like its either lost the driver for your burner,theirs a faulty registry key or the burner is failing.
Try another burning program like the freeware CDBurnerXP Pro (http://www.cdburnerxp.se/) to check the burner is still alright.

i have d/loaded cdburner pro and will let you know if my drive
still works!!

i tried cd burnerxp pro and it does show my dvd-rw drive.

so what could be wrong with nero express?

You need to update Nero. Version 5.5 probably doesn't have your burner in its database of acceptable drives. The link below should work for your NeroExpress, as it did for mine also. If you have the version 5.5 suite you'll also need package 2.

the weird thing is,i have used nero 5.5 many time's with the
sony drive before with no problems!

also what is wrong with nero's servers?

it is d/loading at 5kb/s! should be 80-90kb/s!
i am never going back to dialup

Glad to hear the update fixed your problem. I don't understand why if you have been burning with 5.5 before it stopped working this time, but it could be simply the types of disks you were using too. All of them are different, even in the same batch. But I just bought a dvdrw and had to update Nero so it would recognize the dvd's I had. And my suite was NeroExpress 6.
