I.E. EXPLORER 6.0 questions?

hello all

i have i.e. explorer ver 6.0 sp1, updates q867801, and q823353
all was well until recently. it now hangs up wont go to web sites (page cannot be displayed) just general problems.
i have xp installed on one hdd(c,d partions) two cd-roms (e,f)
two things i have recently done. put 2nd slave hdd with intent to use XPs disk management, downloaded and installed ms mediaplayer 10. i have gotten the system somewhat back by using a system restore point . however system restore refers to changes made by drivef(the second hdd now gone) i have run spybot, avast antivirus, hijack this all is well by them.changed to default settings on i.e. but still doesn,t work correctly. before i download I.E. again and install again. how can i save all my favorite web sites? any other suggestions? john

You can try repairing IE. However, as for reinstalling, since it's still there, that won't work. Have you tried, emptying Temporary Internet Files folder and cookies?

As for saving your favorites, do you have a cdrw or just two cdrom drives? If you have a cdrw you can burn the folder itself to cdr.

jwisneski--If this is happening on all websites, perhaps your Winsock has become corrupted. This is especially likely if you recently removed some spyware. Try LSPfix

i tried uninstalling and reinstalling I.E. right before i was able to put up with waiting the several minutes and reattemps to get back to this site, it didnt work.then i read the post and i do remember something about LSP's when running hijack this (and yes i did remove a few or try to) so i got the Winsock 2 repair utility LSP-Fix ran it and the following three entries were found

mswsock.dll Tcpip
winrnr.dll NTDS
rsvpsp.dll (protocol handler)

after running LSP-fix (clicking finish button) it says repairs complete and things seem to be better but i will test some more

how can i check to see if i removed any entries when using hijack?
