Hi everyone,

I finally took the plunge and got SBC DSL, I would like to network three pc's and the more I read or ask questions the more confusing this becomes. I am hoping the VD network community can give me a clear cut answer.

The first pc is located upstairs and running Win98 SE.
The other two are downstairs in the basement, one is running Win2000 and the other has a dual os Win98 SE and Win2000.

There is no problem to cable between floors. My question is
do I need to set up ICS on all pc's or do I just plug the DSL modem and three pc's into the router.
Let me also mention that I just want all three pc's to access the internet I don't need to share files or a priinter.

Any help would be appreciated.

Just plug in the three PC's to the router and the router to the DSL modem. Have everthing turned off first. After they are all are plugged in, first turn on the modem then the router and then each PC. The modem and router will give each PC it's own IP address.

Thanks Geoff S, I'll try to get this thing set-up right after the holidays.

Merry Christmas everyone.
